Dean Fleischer-Camp (Marcel The Shell With Shoes On) é o diretor, a partir de um roteiro escrito por Chris K.T. Bright.
O filme é ambientado no Havaí e tem foco na amizade formada entre uma jovem solitária que é criada por sua irmã mais velha, e uma máquina de matar alienígenas que cai na Terra e se passa por um cachorro. Esse vínculo é testado quando uma assistente social ameaça tirar Lilo de sua irmã, e as palhaçadas de Stitch não ajudam em nada.
